Fox is the worst channel in the history of television.

Not even getting into the Fair and Balanced steaming bowl of turd either, Fox is the worst channel ever.

I fucking hate this channel. Let’s count the number of AMAZING shows, some of which developed cult like followings, that FOX has canceled over the years. First and foremost, Firefly. Easily in my opinion the greatest show to ever exist, and I think the IMDB ratings agree at a 9.5/10 with 32,000+ votes. I am a huge Joss Whedon nut, so maybe I’m biased a bit, but this show is what made me a Joss Whedon nut. I liked Buffy and I loved Angel but Firefly is really what did me in. Anyways, this carries on to the next problem: Dollhouse. Again, one of my favorite TV shows currently running, and just got canned. Another one of Joss’s masterpieces, and there’s but a few episodes left. Why Whedon stays with fox, nobody will ever know.

Let’s look at some others:
Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles – Why? It’s not like the show had bad ratings.
Titus – Considered by me to be one of the best comedies ever to air.
Dark Angel – Jessica Alba, I don’t need to say more. But it was actually a good show too.
Drive – Lasted 4 episodes, only aired 2 more ONLINE. What a fucking rip, I wanted to see this season SO bad.
Family Guy – While I’m not a fan, it’s easy to see how popular this show became. Why this show was canceled is beyond me.
Futurama – This show filled the void that was being left behind by the Simpsons continuing WAY past their prime and South Park only having a few gems a season.
Arrested Development – Come on FOX, why do you hate the world?

In conclusion, fuck FOX and their stupid ratings driven boner.

This layout while nice and all is having a LOT of cross-browser compatibility issues, and I don’t like anymore. I’m probably going to make something slightly more relevant to my life now, as this layout was when I made it ages ago. Just thought I’d put a heads up out there, I’m about to head out for two exams and then the car dealership, but later tonight who knows!

LinkedIn Owned Me…

I just wanted to issue a general apology for anyone who got a random invite from me for my LinkedIn Profile. I hit next too many times too quickly and it accidentally added EVERYONE I’ve ever contacted via my personal gmail account, which is a LOT of people. This includes anyone who ever e-mailed me just to say “nice mosaic” in response to my star wars mosaic, as well as people I actually did mean to invite. So far I’ve made 22 connections, but every thirty minutes or so sitting at my computer I see someone else approving. So, if I spammed you, I’m sorry! Then again, if my invite appeared to you as spam, then you probably won’t ever see this blurb, so I suppose you should ignore this.

Essentially, I’m just linking you to my LinkedIn profile. I remember the site when it was first launched, and I never thought I’d make a profile. It’s come a long way since then, and I succumbed. Man I love social networking sites…minus myspace.

Website updates/upgrades

I’m sad to say I didn’t even check to see what this website looked like in iexplore, but man is it awful…Curiously, I did test it in chrome, and it works just as well there, but man iexplore does NOT get a long with CSS! I have no idea what microsoft’s problem is, maybe it’s just me, I’m pretty sure I’m still using ie6, and I think it’s on version 9 now or something? Who knows, but more importantly who cares.

I noticed the background of the main-content area was on repeat, and because it’s so light I didn’t notice it until this week, decided to fix it today since I’m more or less trapped at home helping me dad cleaning up, we have relatives from India on the way.

Besides that, I’m working on putting a tag cloud in here, which subsequently means I’m tagging all the posts and pages. Once I put a tag cloud into place, I plan on adding a few more features–among them updating the links underneath the banner to be something more…dynamic and css-ish. That image thing…I think I just did it because I was nostalgic for the table colspan and rowspan days. If you know what that means, then you understand =)

Anywho, lots of little tweaks incoming, and maybe a few big ones. I’m really satisfied with the color scheme of this website, but I may be changing some graphics around. Initially this page was designed for me to do lyrical analysis, but my goals-ADD has prevented me from ever doing that. I may still, but being as nothing on this site is really music themed, I thought maybe I’d get away from the music themed graphics…but I do like it still. So, if you’re interested, look out for minor updates here and there. So far all I did was fix the repeating problem and make a full unscheduled backup of everything before I start changing things.

My Second Accident

I did it again, and I don’t know how I was so stupid.
I was trying to bump start (push start) my friend’s motorcycle, a CBR 600RR. I’m not used to sportbikes, and I’ve only ever push started one bike before. I was not wearing my gear, that was my first mistake. My second mistake was attempting this at all. After trying to push start it unsuccessfully about 5 times in second gear, I decided to put it in first, and it started right away….then the RPMs whizzed way up, the rear tire immediately lost traction. I fishtailed my way up to 20 mph and then flipped.

All in all, I suppose I’m very lucky. No back, spinal, neck, or head injuries. My arms are really torn up, and I think my rotator cuff is sprained. I can only lift my arm in certain ways. I had an x-ray to rule out hairline fractures, but for some reason (health insurance is blah) i’m waiting to get my MRI. I googled up some physical therapy for rotary cuff recovery, and I did some of the exercises. I definitely feel it, I can hear the ligaments when I do them. the exercises are meant to simply stretch and use the muscles while putting as little stress on them as possible. It doesn’t hurt, but it is tedious. Well, lesson learned I guess…

From now on, I’ll be wearing my gear even just to sit on my bike while it’s off. Fuck I’m stupid. No photos, sorry. I’m not vain enough to believe people want to see my scars. I may take this time stuck in my room to update my site, add a few new sections and stuff. We’ll see. Anyways, don’t be as stupid as me. Wear the gear, it will save your life.

I watch a lot of TV

    I love the fall TV line up :)

      I like TV more than movies because the story has to continue over a much longer period of time. My favorite part about watching something be it television, theater, or movies is character development. It’s why I love the Matrix trilogy so much, you see so many characters grow and become different people to fulfill the roles required by their situations. Morpheus plays father, mentor, and captain; Trinity plays lover, wife, temptress, and conscience. Neo obviously goes through the most, starting as a plugged in human….anyways, I digress. I like dramatic television series because the amount of time the writers have with their audience requires a much more involved character, one who doesn’t have some single event in their past that defines them, but rather a much longer past that allows you to explore within their psyche to see what makes them tick. This is why I watch so much TV, I fall in love with the characters after only a couple episodes and then I have to watch the entire series no matter how bad it may become.

      and FYI, Firefly is the greatest show ever made, and I would trade every single show on my fall line up for just one more season of Firefly. God dammit Joss Whedon, why do you rock so hard?

    The date falls on a Wednesday in September, both of which have 9 letters.
    September 9 also is the 252nd day of the year. 2+5+2

    Happy Birthday Dan Bennett! (And me!)

    Happy birthday dan!

    Here’s a picture of our present to our great friend, Dan Bennett. We drove it down to Texas, mostly because shipping for such an irregular, fragile item is very costly, but also because he promised to feed us while we were there. We all love Penny Arcade, very much, so here’s a shout out to those guys. The story behind their comic is probably somewhat similar to our story, but the short version, and that’s all you get to hear in the internets, is we were enjoying eachother’s company after a good, long game of D&D and much consumption of the alcoholic nature, we decided to play again. Let’s just say the party incurred the wrath of the boobie dragon, and it was not pretty. They were lactated on so hard we decided to erase the events of the game and start from where we left off, before the alcohol got involved.

    update: Applying sucked, I got lucky and got re-instated at Rutgers so I didn’t have to deal with all that garbage.

    I made an entire layout and everything for PERCShelter.org but they haven’t uploaded it yet, I’ll probably post another when it’s actually up.

    Besides that, I’ve made RUDeltasig.com and recently I did a garbage hauler’s site in exchange for free garbage delivery for the guy who gave me the job….abcdebris.com

    I think that’s all I did in the last couple months, besides this site of course….so yeah, there’s a portfolio.

    And FYI, this section of the site isn’t reserved for websites I’ve built, just other projects which for now is all I have.

    Currently I’m building a custom motorcycle rear fender with a friend for his bike, when that’s finished I’ll upload the whole project here, and that should be quite interesting and promising.
