I created this project for a friend. The full resolution composite is 300 dpi at a whopping 2′ by 4′, but I thought I’d share it with everyone on a low resolution version (the full size is 14 thousand pixels wide)

Here’s a much, MUCH smaller resolution copy that is still large enough for use as a background, and a nice crisp one at that, in case anyone wants it.

Also, before anyone asks, no the original size picture is not for sale and never will be. It was made as a gift, and will be kept as the only real version, I won’t even print one for myself

P.S. I set this post to publish at approximately the time that we’ll be getting drunk at the Chesterhouse, so don’t be concerned when you see the time stamp and wonder “hey…how did….what?” I am just that fucking awesome.

Wild Hogs & Nice Weather

About a month ago or so, my friend Chris and I went to visit another friend Joe in Newark, Delaware. He was graduating from Udel mere weeks after the visit, so it would likely be the last time we’d be in Delaware, so we decided to bring the bikes. I own a VTX 1800 Classic, and Chris has a Harley 1200 Custom; both of us have plenty of mods that I can’t list without spending at least an hour to remember. Anywho, Joe’s roommate Chris (yes I know, this may get confusing. We’ve nicknamed Joe’s roommate Chris as #1, and the Chris I rode down with #2, so I’ll refer to them like that hereafter) has a decent camera and considers himself an amateur photographer. Since we had cleaned our bikes and brought them down, the weather was beautiful and the chrome was glinting just right, we decided to take some pictures. I’ve uploaded the entire reel to my facebook albums, so those of you that are friends with me can feel free to browse the collection. Facebook’s quality sucks though, so I’ve also shrunk and edited some of them down myself and uploaded them here at 1024×768, which is much nicer.

Inherent Risks

I’ve often heard the phrase “In order for children to truly succeed, their parents must die.” I don’t know who wrote this very cynical statement, but I do believe it to be at least partially true. I have not personally been on the other side of things, because both of my parents are still alive. I do often wonder what I would be like if my parents were not around to stop me from doing anything and everything I wanted to. I can tell you one thing is for sure, I’d probably be a lot worse off right now than I am with my parents.

I think the statement has validity only because without parents, you don’t have someone to lecture you. Without someone to lecture you, you can do whatever it is you wish to do. This might be good, if you were doing something good. Similarly, I think it would be bad, if you were doing something bad. Without my parents as a safety net, who knows where I’d be…probably dead in a ditch on the side of the road somewhere…Okay, well maybe not that bad, but I would be a different person.

There’s an inherent risk in losing your parents, your safety net. The statement would be more accurate if it claimed “The child can be free once his parents have died.” Free to do whatever he or she wants, whether that be succeed triumphantly or fail miserably.

You may be asking why I’m writing this, this will be probably be one of my very few random blogs, because I just need to fill space on my brand spanking new website.
